The Girl in Green

She kisses my cheek

With the lips of gentle breeze.

She sings, and she laughs

With the birds and the crickets.

She smiles sweetly

With a pearly white crescent.

She pierces me with deep blue eyes

That sparkle with a thousand stars.

She’s firm with soil and soft with lush and dewy grass.

She’s hard with stones and steady with the flowing streams.

She’s sweet with juicy fruits and fragrant with succulent flowers.

She’s sharp with keen thorns and deep with the bottomless earth.

She is my guardian, she is my garden.

She is my lover, she is my life.

She is my freedom, she is my friend.

She is my solace, she is my soul.
