O thank the Lord this autumn day
For ev’ry blessing in my way
For ev’ry gen’rous gift of mine
My gratitudes and thanks all shine
My thanks for ev’ry ounce of strength
For every year of our lives’ length
My thanks for wits and furnished brains
And prosp’rous harvest of our grains
Thanks be to God for this abode
And ev’ry water drop that’s flowed
For ev’ry morsel on our plate
And at this table, ev’ry mate
I thank the Lord for ev’ry friend
For family which I attend
I thank the Lord for ev’ry life
Even when they cause me strife
I thank thee, God, that I am free
That I may choose thee willingly
And that I live and rejoice now
By strain of mind and sweat of brow
O thank the Lord this autumn day
For all the blessings that I say
I thank the Lord for these and more
I pray that there is more in store
