The Sixth

       The man had to pull with all of his strength to remove his knife from the body. From his pocket, he took a folded garbage bag, and began to heave the body into it. As he put the body in, he thought of the other five he had murdered. He would never forget the first time he killed. It had torn him apart, but it had been exhilarating, and left him craving more. Now, as he dumped the body into the river, he searched his soul for guilt or pleasure. He felt neither. His sin stirred nothing inside of him.
